Touch-a-Truck Event Draws More Than 2,000 Attendees While Raising More Than $6,300 for Veterans
ALBANY, NY… More than 2,000 children, parents and other members of the community attended the Touch-a-Truck Event at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, May 20, 2017, getting up close to more than 20 large commercial and emergency vehicles while also raising more than $6,300 for the Veterans Miracle Center.
The Trucking Association of New York (TANY) and Bestpass organized the event, which increased attendance over the previous year by more than 500 people. Carter, Conboy, Case, Blackmore, Maloney & Laird, P.C., provided sponsorship support, and several local businesses donated items for raffle and door prizes. More than 20 companies provided vehicles and equipment for the event.
“Trucks are a vital part of everyone’s daily lives, delivering all the items that we need to live, work and play,” said TANY President Kendra Hems. “Touch-a-Truck events provide a unique educational opportunity for children and adults alike, allowing them to get close to the vehicles they usually only see on the road, while in a safe and fun environment.”
