Touch-a-Truck Event Draws More Than 1,500 Attendees While Raising More Than $5,400 for Veterans
CLIFTON PARK, NY… More than 1,500 children, parents and other members of the community attended the Touch-a-Truck Event at Zappone Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Clifton Park on Saturday, May 21, 2016, getting up close to more than 20 large commercial and emergency vehicles while also raising more than $5,400 for Veterans Count NY.
Bestpass, Inc., and the New York State Motor Truck Association (NYSMTA) organized the event, which more than doubled attendance over the previous year. Zappone Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and Carter, Conboy, Case, Blackmore, Maloney & Laird, P.C. provided sponsorship support. Several local businesses also donated items for a raffle and door prizes.
“Trucks are a daily part of everyone’s lives, because they deliver all the items we use to live, work and play,” said NYSMTA President Kendra Hems. “Touch-a-Truck events provide a great educational opportunity for both adults and children, who can get close to the vehicles they usually only see on the road, while in a safe and fun environment.”
