Own The Road – Kenworth of Pennsylvania Shartlesville Is Host To The Kneworth W990 Tour
On Tuesday October 30th, Kenworth of Pennsylvania hosted roughly 150 customers at their Shartlesville location. Customers came from all over to view the new Kenworth W990 where they were able to see the trucks up close and personal and ask questions of factory representatives. On site were two Kenworth W990 tractors. One was equipped with a 76-inch mid-roof sleeper and the other was a Heavy Haul Day Cab. The Kenworth tour trailer was on display as well. Customers were treated to gift bags as well as lunch and a three-dimensional cake designed to look like the W990.
The Kenworth W990 sets a powerful new industry standard, and is designed to maximize performance in line haul, pickup and delivery, and regional hauling operations. Available in day cab, 40-inch Flat Top, and 52-inch and 76-inch mid-roof sleeper configurations, the W990 is standard with the proprietary PACCAR Powertrain.
The new Kenworth W990 stars in two Kenworth W990 Road Tours slated to visit 20 Kenworth dealerships in the United States and Canada during October and November.

The new Kenworth W990 builds upon that strong legacy by delivering the significant, next-step evolution wrapped in traditional styling, craftsmanship, luxury and power,” said Kevin Baney, Kenworth assistant general manager for sales and marketing. “During the two Kenworth Road Tours, we’re bringing four Kenworth W990s out on the road for the world of trucking to see and experience.”
The first Kenworth W990 Road Tour began on Oct. 10, and showcased two W990 tractors equipped with 76-inch mid-roof sleepers. The first W990 is painted with a stunning Blackout II Metallic Black color, and is equipped with the proprietary PACCAR Powertrain consisting of the PACCAR MX-13 engine rated at 485-hp and 1,650 lb-ft of torque, the 12-speed PACCAR automated transmission and PACCAR 40K tandem rear axles. The second W990 has an Eaton® Fuller® 18-speed manual transmission, and Meritor’s 13K front axle and 40K rear axles. The truck’s paint design is a classic 3-color Sunset design in Blackout II, Sparkling Blue Metallic and Harvest Gold.
Both trucks feature the W990 Limited Edition interior, which includes rich black leather, embroidered W990 logo, Ravenwood door and dash trim accents, Royal Blue double-stitched diamond door pads, black leather wrapped steering wheel with Royal Blue stitching, and driver and passenger seats with suede charcoal inserts and perforated leather with Royal Blue backing.
The second Kenworth W990 Road Tour commenced on Oct. 19, and includes two W990s. The featured truck is equipped with a 76-inch mid-roof sleeper and Limited Edition interior, PACCAR MX-13 engine rated at 510-hp and 1,850 lb-ft of torque, and Eaton® Fuller®18-speed manual transmission. It has the Strobe paint design in Blackout II Metallic Black and Surf Blue Metallic. The second truck is a heavy haul W990 day cab with a PACCAR 20K front axle, 46K Dana Spicer rear axle, and Blackout II Metallic Black paint.
