Louisville, KY… The Mid- America Trucking Show , the largest annual heavy- duty trucking industry event in the world, announced a partnership with FASTPORT, Inc. to coordinate the largest Statement of Support signing in the history of the Department of Defense Office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
“We are proud to provide the venue and opportunity for the trucking industry to demonstrate unprecedented support of the Guard and Reserve with FASTPORT,” said Toby Young, President of Exhibit Management Associates for MATS. ”Our exhibitors are excited to participate, and we are looking forward to a historic signing ceremony for ESGR.” This year, MATS will be held from March 31st through April 2nd. “Trucking industry employers continue to consolidate their efforts to educate, inspire and hire 150,000 Veterans, Guard, Reserve, Transitioning Service Men and Women, and Military Spouses by posting their jobs on HYPERLINK "http://truckingtrack.org/"truckingtrack.org, and we are proud to partner with MATS to create another unique opportunity to stand together as an industry and further demonstrate our collective employment commitment,” said Bill McLennan, CEO of FASTPORT. “We are also very proud to work closely with the Office of ESGR to help educate employers about the 1.1 million talented men and women serving in the Guard and Reserve and to recognize their public support.”
“Today supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units. The ESGR Statement of Support program is the cornerstone of ESGR’s efforts to gain and maintain employer support. The intent of this program is to increase employer support by encouraging participating employers to act as advocates for employee participation in the military,” said Tom Bullock, ESGR Chief of Employer Outreach. “This patriotic industry and its employers are setting a high standard for all other industries and employers to follow by providing above and beyond support of the nation’s Veterans, many of whom currently serve in the National Guard and Reserve.”
The patriotic feeling at the Friday edition of MATS will continue with a free concert featuring award winning Country star Craig Morgan, who served 15 years in the Army and Reserves before launching his music career. The concert will take place onsite at Freedom Hall immediately following shows hours, and complimentary tickets will be distributed, while supplies last, from the Mobil Delvac Booth #18160 in the North Wing.
