Kirk Trucking Service Embodies Safety With Eyes On Fleet Expansion
Through nearly seventy-five years of business, Kirk Trucking Service has been supporting industry in the greater Pittsburgh area and nationwide with expert drivers and a sharp focus on safety and quality service. One way the company motivates it’s drivers is through it’s Driver of the Month program. The driver who earns this accolade is accident and incident free, known for punctuality and often praised by customers and brokers. He or she is presented with a monetary bonus, a certificate and added to a plaque maintained in the drivers lounge at the corporate office.
However, from March 30th to June 1st of this year, any Kirk driver who stands a DOT inspection with zero violations or infractions will be awarded a one hundred dollar bonus and a company jacket designed for spring weather in Pennsylvania. November’s Driver of the Month was Larry. He is an owner operator who has been with the company for over eighteen years. Larry has recently purchased a new Benson flatbed trailer from Reno’s Trailer Sales. Mr. December was Doug, another owner operator who’s tenure with Kirk Trucking spans over ten years. Doug has recently purchased a new Freightliner tractor along with a new East flatbed trailer. In efforts to expand, the company is actively recruiting owner operators with various hauling experience to join their fleet.
At the turn of the year, Kirk made an addition to its management team. Dustin was brought on as a Logistics and Brokerage Coordinator to oversee the Van and Specialized Division of the Company. He is a Marine combat veteran and Naval Achievement Medal recipient with a background in logistics operations and maintenance management. Since his arrival, Kirk has joined forces with the Show Your Stripes program in efforts to strengthen their team with aggressive and motivated veterans who have received extensive training through their service.
