DUNBAR, PA… JLE Industries was founded with one truck in 2012 as a company that provided service to the oil field industry. At the request of their customers, JLE began hauling flatbed freight and eventually transitioned to becoming a flatbed carrier.

Since their inception, JLE Industries has experienced a 100% growth rate year after year, growing to their current size of 265 power units, with a goal to reach 300 trucks by year’s end. The company primarily hauls flatbed freight with some over-dimensional and over-weight loads as well. Many of the loads originate in the Pittsburgh area heading to Chicago, Houston and other industrial destinations. Trucks are loaded back through the company’s primary power lanes to ensure they are getting drivers an equal balance of miles and home time.

Owner Evan Pohaski believes in paying his drivers for “everything they do”. Drivers with less than 3 years’ experience start at .50 per mile while drivers with 3+ years’ experience start at .55 per mile. Each month drivers can earn an extra .5 per mile through their performance bonus. They also receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid out within the first 6 months, with no strings attached. Drivers are paid for all dispatched miles as well as layovers, breakdowns, tarping and detention time.

Evan has created an incredible corporate culture at JLE, attracting many great drivers and staff members to come to work for the company. It is a high energy company with the goal of becoming the Nation’s premier flatbed carrier while aggressively growing the fleet.

Evan states, “Every member of the JLE team is vested in the company. Our staff is engaged with our drivers and we all work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect.”

It must be working because JLE continues to grow by leaps and bounds, adding highly experienced drivers to its ranks each week. Many drivers who started with JLE are still working there today. “We want to recognize our drivers for the difficult job that they do,” said Evan. JLE has a monthly driver recognition program as well as a tarping and securement contest with a weekly winner. The company gives premiums for clean DOT inspections and offers referral bonuses. JLE Industries also holds an annual raffle for a vacation cruise and $1,000 cash.

The average age of tractors at JLE is less than 10 months and newer. The company owns Kenworths, Freightliners and some Peterbilts. Owner-operators are welcome, earning 77% of the linehaul and 100% of fuel surcharges and accessorial expenses. The company has negotiated fuel discounts of up to .15¢ per gallon from retail at select travel plazas across the country. Relatively new at JLE is a lease purchase program, enabling company drivers to become owner-operators after 90 days of tenure. After 90 days of tenure, JLE Industries offers lease purchase contractors 100% financing and lease/purchase payments as low as $595 per week with no down payment. CEO/Owner Evan Pohaski remarks, “We want to create an environment in which our contractors and lease purchase operators can succeed. If they want to take the entrepreneurial path, we are happy to support them. Once a driver has given us 90 days, they clearly know our customer services expectations and how to manage themselves successfully within our freight network.”

JLE Industries is currently hiring and leasing drivers east of the Mississippi for flatbed work. Drivers must be at least 23 years old and have 2 years OTR with 6 months verifiable flatbed experience. During orientation, you will most likely meet Evan as he enjoys meeting new drivers in Monday orientations and has a tradition of cooking breakfast for them on Tuesday mornings at their Dunbar, Pennsylvania terminal. Evan likes to get know each of his new employees. Evan states, “taking a personal interest in who your people are and what they value matters more in trucking than in any other industry. This is a tough business. It takes a strong relationship and transparency with your people to succeed. Things are not always perfect in trucking.”

JLE Industries has weekly settlements with direct deposit and company drivers have a full benefits package with a comprehensive health insurance plan that includes vision and dental. There is a 401K retirement plan with a generous weekly company match so that employees can see their funds growing each week. Each driver manager serves about 20 drivers and plans loads 1-2 days in advance. They also offer support and help with any problems that JLE drivers may experience while out on the road.

If you are interested in joining a high energy flatbed carrier that is aggressively growing, then JLE Industries is for you. The company offers something new and better each week and is dedicated to making trucking fun and visible again. The company motto is: Accountability, Performance, and Integrity. #proudlydriven. Opportunities are also available for agents with or without trucks. For more information call 724-200-7687.
