CRST Expedited Announces Pay Increase for New Drivers
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA… CRST Expedited, Inc., the largest operating company of CRST International, Inc., announced a 15-percent pay increase for new contract student drivers effective Monday, August 21. New drivers who receive CDL training through CRST’s company sponsored training program will benefit from the increase.
Many of these new drivers are trained at CRST’s North American Driver Training Academy in Cedar Rapids.
“Our student drivers are a critical part of our team,” said Cameron Holzer, President of CRST Expedited. “Ensuring they are successful in starting out their professional driving career is a top priority to us.”
In addition to the driver training academy, CRST has invested in driver education over the past several years by: building a state-of-the-art driver training and truck repair facility in Riverside, Calif.; expanding the driver training facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and implementing The Gold Rules, a culture-changing initiative focused on improving the driver experience and reducing driver turnover.
“As CRST continues growing, we want to continue to invest in our drivers,” said CRST Group President/COO –Mike Gannon. “These drivers are critical to the future success of our industry as we face an increasingly challenging market to find qualified drivers.”
Last year, CRST Expedited assisted 3,740 new drivers in joining the transportation industry.
CRST offers on-campus lodging, classrooms, affordable quality meals and entertainment. Additionally, the company offers best-in-class safety training to its drivers at no cost. Due to this investment, CRST has become one of the largest driver training organizations in the truck transportation industry.
In the past few years, CRST has grown through acquisitions and organic business growth to become one of the largest and most diversified transportation companies in the U.S. with projected 2017 annual revenues in excess of $1.3 billion. It employs more than 8,000 company drivers, independent contractors and office personnel across the nation.
