Announcing the 2024 ATHS Educational Scholarship Winners - -2025 Scholarships Open December 1ST
KANSAS CITY,MO… The American Truck Historical Society announced its two George Schroyer Memorial Scholarship recipients, the Cummins Scholarship recipient, and the Lewis Semple Clark Educational Fund winner at its ATHS Awards Banquet in June
“ATHS is committed to empowering the youth who will shape the future of the trucking industry, and we encourage them to preserve its rich history,” said John Gravley, ATHS executive director.
Congratulations to the following students who will be furthering their education this fall:
George Schroyer Memorial Scholarships (named for a dedicated, long-time ATHS member)
* Cash McCord (Tipton, Indiana) son of ATHS member Shaun McCord is attending Vincennes University in Indiana this fall.
* Deo Read IV (Red Hook, New York), son of ATHS member Deo Wilson Read III is attending John Paul the Great Catholic University in California this fall.
Cummins Scholarship (sponsored by Cummins)
* John Goodfellow (Lyman, South Carolina), grandson of ATHS life member Marty Glomb, is attending Universal Technical Institute this fall.
Lewis Semple Clarke Educational Fund (sponsored by ATHS Autocar Division)
* Anna Rhodus (Shawnee, Kansas), granddaughter of ATHS member Leo Rieke is attending the University of Missouri.
“Trucking has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, so this truly is an honor to receive this award,” McCord said.
“These outstanding students have made significant impacts in their communities and schools, and we eagerly anticipate their continued success,” said Gravley.
ATHS will begin accepting 2025 scholarship applications on Dec. 1, 2024. The deadline to submit applications is April 15, 2025. Students must attend regular classes, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be a family member (child, stepchild, or grandchild) of a current ATHS member in good standing for two years to be eligible for the George Schroyer Memorial and Cummins scholarships. The Lewis Semple Clark Educational Fund scholarship is restricted to Autocar Company employees and family members (child, stepchild, or grandchild) with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference for all scholarships will be given to applicants pursuing positions in the trucking or transportation industry.
