$40,000 Raised by CFI for 23rd Annual Truckloads of Treasures Holiday Giving Campaign
JOPLIN, MO… CFI, a full-truckload carrier, announced that its employees raised $40,000 during the company’s 23rd annual Truckloads of Treasures holiday giving campaign.
Nearly 150 CFI employees, family members and friends participated in a shopping spree last night at the Joplin Target to purchase holiday gifts for local children and senior citizens in need. A CFI tractor-trailer was present at the event to make the special delivery to the Salvation Army. Additionally, the company presented an additional $500 in donations to seven local charities: Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Missouri, Area Agency on Aging Region X, Pro Musica, Children’s Haven of Southwest Missouri, Art Feeds, Camp Quality Ozarks and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States.
“We are extremely appreciative of the donation from CFI now and in the past,” said Stan Heater, CEO for the Area Agency on Aging in Joplin. “Even more so this year because we have had to institute a waiting list for home delivered meals. This money will help us serve some of those people.”
To raise the necessary funds for Truckloads of Treasures the CFI executive management team and employees donated several raffle prizes. Tickets were sold to company employees and independent contractors in differing dollar amounts, depending on the prize. In addition, the company held fundraising events such as a chili cook-off and book fair.
“Our employees take great pride in helping their communities across North America,” said CFI President Tim Staroba. “I am proud of our employees and their eagerness to give back to those in need.”
Since 1993, Truckloads of Treasures has presented more than $745,000 in employee and independent contractor-raised donations to local organizations.
In addition to the Joplin shopping spree, each of the company’s other terminal locations in Laredo, Texas, Taylor, Michigan, and West Memphis, Arkansas, partnered with local organizations to provide holiday gifts and food for area children and senior citizens. Two company locations in Mexico and one location in Canada also received donations to distribute to charities that benefit local communities.
